Blackout Prestige Masters will unlock new icons, calling cards, coins and more. There’s a new prestige system with players who’ve reached echelon 80 now able to prestige up to ten times to become a Blackout Prestige Master. The new Hot Pursuit game mode which brings three new vehicles in the PBR (a rigid speedboat), the police-liveried SUV (which has a built-in sensor dart) and the Muscle Car. In a similar vein, Call of Duty: WWII favourite the MP40 sub-machine gun also makes an appearance.
It takes standard 5.56mm ammo, but still can’t mount any attachments so limited at longer ranges. The Grav assault rifle, previously only available as a rare loot item in zombie crates, is now available as a standard weapon variant and can spawn anywhere in the map. New to the game will be the KAP 45 (a full-auto pistol), the Switchblade X9 SMG, Rampage auto-shotgun and Outrider’s Sparrow, which is a compound bow and arrow system. Operation Grand Heist is set to bring several updates over the next few months, but as usual some of the most anticipated will be new weapons and equipment. Is the coffee ring to the North West of the teaser blueprint a hint at the position of this potential new drop zone? One thing is for sure: with all the new updates to the land portion of the map the ocean portions North and South of Nuketown island are the last remaining spots with substantial space for major additions above surface level. Late-on in the trailer a squad is seen gliding with the unmistakable Blackout wingsuits toward a building with a distinct resemblance to the famous high-security prison.

The trailer, plus the teaser map, have had many players and commentators speculating about the prospect of a new Alcatraz prison-style area. Later in the season there could be further updates to the map. Treyarch promise “a fresh layer of variety and strategy to Blackout, now with completely transformed areas to use to your advantage”.
